Grant writing requires understanding an organization's mission deeply enough to translate it for a funder who has never set foot in the building. That's not just writing — that's research, strategic framing, and knowing how to connect a mission to the people with resources to support it.

On the operations side, I build what our clients need to run smoothly: tracking systems, document management, Google Workspace administration, workflow design. If a system doesn't exist and they need it, I build it.

I made a deliberate move into tech — a remote-first startup in a sector I didn't know — to prove that what I do isn't industry-specific. The real work wasn't cold outreach. It was researching who to contact, building targeted value propositions, and figuring out why a specific operator should care.

My key account was Cob's Bread — a national brand already using Push across roughly 60% of their Canadian locations. I expanded that adoption to 73% by leveraging performance data from existing locations, packaging it into a case for new operators, and guiding them through onboarding.

Five years. Three distinct roles. The same through-line: put the right person in the right place, and build the systems that make that repeatable.

Built the employee manual and leasing procedures from scratch

Spearheaded Dwell Hintonburg lease-up — open houses, community partnerships, marketing tools

I started as a leasing consultant at Osgoode and grew into the trainer role — building the employee manual, learning aids, and department training that made new agents effective from day one. Not documents that lived in a folder. Tools that got used.

At Smart Living, I took on a Team Leader role and was handed the Dwell Hintonburg project — a brand-new property that needed to go from zero to full occupancy. I hosted open house events, built community partnerships with local organizations, and created marketing and advertising tools to generate traffic and interest. Every resident that moved in went through me — end-to-end, from first conversation to signed lease to move-in day. We hit 98.8%.

2018 – 2019

My role at Carleton was one part recruitment, one part advisor, one part coordinator. I was on the phones with prospective students — domestic and international — walking them through acceptance to the university, explaining programs, and consulting on the right fit based on their goals and background.

The onboarding side was end-to-end: once a student was accepted, I guided them through everything that came next — setting up accounts, submitting documents, meeting deadlines, and navigating payments. A lot of students were calling from outside Canada for the first time, so being clear, patient, and organized wasn't optional. It was the whole job.
